Versatile Blogging Award

Okay, so Tiffany over at The Bookish Thought nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. I'm still kind of new to this whole "award" thing (the only other award I've done is the Sisterhood of the World award), but I'm ready to give it my best go. Feel free to point out if I do something wrong!

The rules of the award:
1. Nominate 15 other bloggers relatively new to blogging.
2. Let the bloggers know that you've nominated them.
3. Share 10 random facts about yourself.
4. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
5. Add the Versatile Blogger Award picture to your post.

Okay, so I don't know a million blogs (I am, after all, still relatively new to blogging!), so these might not all be the best fit. I just went through my Bloglovin feed, pulling out all the blogs with less than a hundred Bloglovin followers. I have no idea if these blogs are really still starting out or not, so please don't be offended if you're on the list and aren't a new blogger!

10 random facts about myself:

1. My favorite color is turquoise. When that's not available, I always go for either blue or green!

2. I've been homeschooled since first grade. That means I can spend all day in my pajamas!

3. I've moved seven times, and lived abroad (for a year . . . when I was two. :P)

4. I'm a huge Whovian and could literally sit around watching Doctor Who all day. My favorite doctor is David Tennant, but I'd also be happy to fangirl with you about Christopher Eccleston, Matt Smith, and Peter Capaldi!

5. I'm a history geek. I took AP European History my sophomore year because it looked fun!

6. I'm also a languages person. I'm semi-fluent in Spanish, and working hard to improve (haha, by "working hard" I mean "reading Harry Potter in Spanish").

7. I've only ever been to one concert. It was on Taylor Swift's Red tour, and it was amazing!

8. The only high-tech item I own is an iPad Mini. I earned the right to buy it the summer of '13 and have cherished it ever since. I use it literally all day every day!

9. I originally started this blog in December of 2013, but I got so caught up in making sure every post was perfect that it sucked the joy right out of blogging for me. I only started back again October 2014.

10. I love old TV shows. Some of my favorites are I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Brady Bunch, and the little-known gem Green Acres.

And there we go, ten random facts about me! Thank you so much for nominating me for this fun award, Tiffany. I wish you the best of luck with your blog!

  2. Thanks for the nomination! :D I'm the absolute worst at writing tags and awards (I have a huge backlog *blushes*) but it will get written. One day.

It's great that you were able to start up blogging again and make it something you enjoy! I've been struggling with fitting reading, reviewing, and blogging into my schedule which sometimes makes it stressful, so I think it's important for all bloggers to remember that we blog for ourselves! Also, your Spanish must be very good to comprehend Harry Potter! o_O Also, TAYLOR SWIFT. I'd love to go to one of her concerts one day, haha. Great post :)

    1. Hi, Connie! Thanks for stopping by my award post. I know how it is with things like this - I literally forgot I'd been nominated for like a week and a half. :P I definitely had to change my focus when I came back to blogging - I focus on only reading books I am actually interested in reading, so it doesn't feel like reading is sucking up my free time. Then I just write my posts whenever I have time/feel like doing it. If i want to spend the evening watching Star Wars, then I will: I have to remember that blogging doesn't rule my life.
A hope you get a chance to go to a TS concert one day! They really are amazing.

  3. Thanks so much for nominating me!! It means tons. We have lots in common! I love old TV shows, (Especially I love Lucy and the Brady Bunch!) I'm home schooled since 4th grade, and I'm fluent in Spanish as well!

Would you mind me asking how you found out about my blog? I'd love to know so I know what's the best place to promote it! :)

    1. Hi, Daisy! Thanks for stopping by my award post. :) Wow, we really are alike! We're like Spanish-speaking, homeschooled, book-loving twins who sit around all day watching I Love Lucy and The Brady Bunch. :D
Let's see, I don't exactly remember how I found your blog. Maybe it was through Bloglovin's reccomendations list? All I remember is seeing the cover of The Total Tragedy of a Girl Named Hamlet and clicking over to your review.

    1. Thanks, Cynthia! Yeah, Taylor Swift is amazing live. Honestly, she has more energy at the end of the concert than I usually do when I get up in the morning.

  5. thank you so much for nominating me! I posted my award just now. I'm watching Dr. Who right now and I absolutely love it :) Ahh I saw Taylor Swift on the red tour too, wasn't it an amazing show?

    1. Thanks for participating in the award, Sunny! I'll head over right now and check out your post. :) I'm glad you like Doctor Who - I discovered it last November, and I couldn't believe I'd been missing out on something that awesome for so long! The Red tour was definitely awesome. I don't have a huge frame of reference when it comes to concerts (considering I've only been to one real one, and a couple of half-shows during youth retreats), but I think Taylor's shows are pretty awesome by anyone's standards.

  6. I've always wanted to be homeschooled! Sadly my parents wouldn't allow it and it especially doesn't work in India that well! :/
I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't even know a thing about Doctor Who! I've heard it's awesome though!
I've always wanted to learn spanish and I'm kinda doing so by listening to Shakira, Hoobastank's spanish version songs. Maybe I've progress to HP in a few years :D
My high-tech gadget is my tablet too and my sister gifted it to me on my birthday, in the summer of 2013!! :D
Thanks a ton for nominating me!!! And you're finally doing tags! YAY! I'm taking credit for that..I mean I did technically pester you to do one when I nominated you ;)
I'm sorry I'm a little, actually a lot late! My dad was very ill and I had to go MIA for a whopping two months! He's fine now!
I'll do the tag as soon as I can! :)

    1. Ugh, I wrote out a whole long reply to your comment yesterday then accidentally deleted it when my brother kicked me off the computer, Time for round two! :P
Yeah, you kind of need to have your parents on board for the homeschooling thing. Otherwise, it doesn't really work! :P I've actually been thinking about the homeschool thing the last few days. I know a lot of people who aren't homeschooled are really curious about what it's like to do school at home. I was thinking about posting a "day in the life"-type post showing what I do all day, and then maybe some follow-up posts in response to any questions in the comments section from the first post. Do you think that's a good idea, or would that just be boring?
Yes, Doctor Who is awesome. It really is. Don't check it out unless you've got time to catch up on all eight seasons!
Cool! I really like Spanish. I'm a language person. Maybe someday I'll post a review in Spanish, and all the Spanish speakers can pick it apart for all its inaccuracies. :P
Tablets are awesome, because they're big enough to watch TV and read on! I use mine literally all day, every day, both for school and for fun. I have a bluetooth keyboard that lets me type on it, which works really well.
Aw, you're welcome! And thanks for nominating me for my first tag! :D I've decided I'll do tags I'm nominated for, spreading them out as a way to break the monotony of my normal posting schedule.
I'm glad your dad is better! No sweat about doing the tag a little late - parents are so much more important than internet tags that I can't even think about it! :)

    2. Siblings! :D
I think that's a great idea! You should do it! I mean, I'm really curious! You can promote it even to a regular based upon the reader reactions! I think that would broaden the content of your blog too! I would read it for sure! I hope you'll decide to do it! :D
      That's so sweet! :)

    3. You know what? I think I will do it! Thanks for the encouragement. :)
